World of Warcraft Upgrades and Item Upgrading
Upgrades can boost the value of certain numeric statistics on armor, weapons and rings. Upgrades can also boost bonuses like Crit chance and damage from PvE.
If the template for upgrading a weapon is %, it will be able to gain 3% of its previous damage every time it is upgraded.
The cost of upgrading an item is determined by the item's level. The cost increases with the item's level.
Components
Upgrade components can be added to weapons, armor and trinkets to give them a boost in stats or add a bonus effect. They can be acquired through crafting, buying from vendors trading or looting. Certain upgrades come with special cosmetic effects.
Upgrade components can only be applied to equipment with a slot. The item must be upgraded to blue level before a component can be applied. Upgrade components, unlike other modifications, can only be applied only once. They cannot be replaced or applied several times. Infusions and Enrichments are a type of upgrade component that is used to upgrade non-amulet legendary and Ascended equipment, as well as some non-ascended items. Infusions and enrichments are recovered by salvaging gear from the ascended, or completing an elite mission in the Prophecies, Factions and Nightfall campaigns.
An upgrade may be prefixed or a suffix that alters the name of the item to which it is used (for instancethe "Canthan Armor Insignia" becomes Canthan Armor of Minor Vigor). Some upgrades increase an item's Mark Level, or Rarity, allowing players to make stronger versions of the equipment that require less Upgrade Crystals than is required to reach the same level of upgrade using normal methods.
A 'boost upgrade' can modify the attack or defense properties of a weapon, or armor. After the player has completed the cutscene and defeated Crazed Mechanist These upgrades can be created at the Portative Forging Station. They can be dropped by enemies when upgrading other gear or by purchasing them in the cash shop for 500 upgrade crystals each.
The player can get the maximum of five boost upgrades at one time; each upgrade increases the likelihood that a better-quality version of the item will appear during the next reset. This gives players a reason to upgrade their gear even if they are unsure what will be improved following the reset.
The process of upgrading an item can be expensive and it's possible that the item will be obsolete or even break when the upgrade fails. Upgrade Crystals and assist powder are also destroyed when an upgrade fails. This is alleviated by the availability cash shop items to increase or even eliminate the chance of failure, as well as some upgrades that offer a bonus when reinserted into an item.
Glyphs
Glyphs can be used to enhance the Paragon Board by placing them in sockets with special functions. Glyphs boost the power of all nodes in a radius around them and include pre-existing affixes to equipment. Glyphs are upgraded in many ways. We suggest upgrading them as soon as possible to level 15.
In the final game you'll find that the best way to improve your gear is by placing Glyphs. These are the only upgrade component that can be upgraded to level 15 and provide significant boosts to your power on the Paragon Board.
The majority of upgrades in the game can be replaced, however, Glyphs are only the one upgrade component that can be removed and re-placed without any restrictions. The only exception is legendary equipment, which requires an Black Lion Salvage Kit to salvage and re-place.
Each Glyph has a certain range of values it can improve a statistic by, and the value is displayed when you choose the Glyph in your inventory. You can choose to replace it with a Glyph with the same rank or higher rank, which will increase the value of the glyph.
Glyphs are available in the Black Lion Trading Post as part of the Gem Store bundle or purchase the glyphs with certain tools that allow unlimited use, and during Faction Crypt Raids. Every Faction Crypt will drop one of these Glyphs. There are also some rare glyphs that you can find in any of the Faction Crypts.
After you have acquired the desired Glyphs you will require them to be placed on your equipment. Each Glyph unlocks a unique bonus that boosts a particular set of stat nodes that are within a radius of the Glyph. Based on the Glyph it could be +40 to one of your primary stats, or +25 to two of your secondary stats.
Using a Glyph will boost all nodes connected to it, and you should aim to place your Glyphs near the most important nodes of the Graph to maximize the impact. Druids, for example should put their Glyphs close to their primary damage nodes. They might be able to place them near their primary damage nodes.
Leveling
The upgrade system of items allows players to boost the power of certain items by inserting upgraded components. This is referred to as "upping". Every upgradeable item has an amount that determines its final upgraded stats. Upgraded items can be upgraded up to a maximum level of 385 ilvl. Each level of an item requires different components, and the cost of upgrading increase with each level.
Some upgrades require a special ingredient to activate. This ingredient can be obtained by completing Upgrade Recipes. These recipes can be found in the upgrade tab of a crafting table, or purchased from some NPCs. Each Upgrade Recipe that is completed results in a certain amount of Technology points. These points can be used to level the item, and once enough are earned, the upgrade will be claimed and its additional bonuses will be added to the item.
When an individual player upgrade the equipment they have it will be replaced by a new item. The same armor will receive a weapon or a shield when upgraded. The new item will also have a unique bonus. This can be a downside in that the item could increase in price even if you don't require it.
The upgrades to items can be rerolled if the player has enough reroll tokens to do this. The item will be replaced with a brand new one that is based on a level 1 base and totally different bonuses. This can be useful but it should not be repeated often since it could waste resources.
Some upgrades can be rerolled several times which increases their value and allowing the player to customize their gear. One example is Dolphin's Gift, which gives a buff when the player repeatedly enters and exits water (or is able to swim like a dolphin). It is possible to upgrade it several times, each time increasing the max roll by 10 points. This item is highly useful in PvP. A properly rolled version can be worth 50 times the value of the non-upgraded counterpart.
Requirements
The ability to upgrade item s allows players to boost the quality of their equippable gear--armor, weapons and trinkets above ilvl 385--by offering the appropriate items and currency to an NPC that upgrades items. Upgrading armor set pieces will also increase the base defense of that piece, while upgrading weapons will increase the base damage and the strength and dexterity required to match the requirements of the upgraded equipment.
Each item can be upgraded up to five times, with the exception of hero gear, which can be upgraded up to eight times. item upgrading upgrade an object it is at risk of failing. The failure rate increases as you move beyond the maximum number. Failures can cause the item to return to its original condition which means that the player has to purchase more items than if they stopped upgrading after the maximum amount.
If an item fails to upgrade, the amount of accumulated experience in its growth bar is reset to zero. In addition the item will be deducted any bonuses it gained, including crit chance and attack damage, as well as any additional effects associated with that effect (for example, increased heal over time or the speed of reloading). However, the player can still continue to use the weapon or armor following the failure.
Whenever an item is upgraded the upgrades are applied from the lowest to the highest. item upgrades means that, when a weapon gains an increase in crit chance the increase is applied before any increase in attack damage. A new attribute called Slots has been added to the definition of the item and the value is calculated every time an upgrade is made.
The amount of resources needed to upgrade an item is determined on the rarity rating and the number of upgrade slots. The cost of upgrading non-premium items is the same as the base value of the upgrade. For example, a common equipment item might have 5 upgrades with a cost of 25600 Technology Points, 4x Quality Improvement Chance. Hero grade items are less expensive per upgrade.
Premium items may have different upgrade requirements than normal equipment. For example they might require less sowels, but they will require more minerals and orons. However, players will have to visit the NPC [Armorthe ] Boboko in Central Flarine with each piece of equipment they want to upgrade. Each upgrade to equipment requires different amounts of upgrade ingredients in addition to the costs mentioned above.
